BRUSH, BABE.
Knot-free hair is happy hair.
Use the brush we gifted you or a wide-tooth comb.
Start at the tips and gently work your way up, holding near the roots so you’re not pulling on the bonds.
Hot tip: keep a brush in your car, handbag or bathroom so you can give your extensions a quick smooth whenever you need.
WASH DAY ROUTINE
Your extensions don’t need to be overwashed. Too much washing can dry them out, so keep it gentle and use the products we’ve recommended.
Shampoo your roots and let the suds run through the extensions. No rough scrubbing, no tangling yourself into a crisis.
Conditioner goes through the mid-lengths and ends only. Keep it away from your bonds and comb it through gently so everything feels soft, smooth and loved.
Using products outside our recommendations can shorten the lifespan of your extensions and may affect your guarantee.
PRODUCTS THAT ACTUALLY HELP
You don’t need a million products…
but you do need the right ones.
Your extension care lineup should include:
- Ori Lab Restore Cleanse
- Ori Lab Restore Masque
- Nak Replends Cream
- Nak Nourish Oil
- Ori Lab Overnight Dew Serum
If you’re not sure what’s best for you, we’ve got you.
DRY THEM PROPERLY
Extensions are not wash-and-wear.
They need to be dried properly, especially at the roots. Leaving them wet can cause matting, pulling on your new growth and tape slipping.
Start with your dryer nozzle off for maximum airflow until your hair stops dripping. Dry your roots first, then pop the nozzle back on and work section by section through the mids and ends.
If it starts feeling chaotic, stop, brush, reset, continue. Kit Kat break optional but encouraged.
HEAT STYLING RULES
Be kind to your extensions like you would your natural hair.
Limit heat where you can, always use heat protection, and keep your tools on a lower heat setting. Extensions usually hold a style really well, so before you re-curl or re-straighten, give them a good brush first. Sometimes that’s all they need.
Beach, please!
Yes, you can still live your best mermaid life. We just need to protect the hair first.
Before swimming, wet your hair in the shower. Then apply nourishing oil through your hair, pop it in a plait, and off you go.
Be careful with sunscreen around your extensions. Sunscreen can react with extension hair and cause colour changes, especially those dreaded orange/blorange patches.
MAINTENANCE IS EVERYTHING
Your relift appointment is the real MVP.
We recommend coming back every 6–8 weeks for your adjustment. At this appointment, we remove the extensions, retape them, wash and blow-dry your hair, then reapply everything fresh.
This keeps your natural hair healthy, prevents matting and tangling at the roots, and keeps the whole look sitting properly.
